Collaboration With McLaren

The iconic British supercar brand. The leading global racing game franchise

Now, the long-established collaboration between McLaren and FORZA has a brand-new chapter.

This creative relationship allows fans across the globe to get behind the wheel of the world’s most exhilarating supercars… from the comfort of their own homes. The pioneering McLaren P1™ was the first of our cars to feature – proudly gracing the cover of FORZA Motorsport 5. Multiple McLarens have been brought to life in the FORZA franchise since. In the most recent collaboration, the McLaren Senna was the hero car for FORZA Horizon 4, which launched exclusively on XBOX and Microsoft Windows in October 2018.

“We’re delighted to be working so closely with Microsoft on their FORZA racing franchise,” said Jolyon Nash, Executive Director of Global Sales & Marketing for McLaren Automotive. “Video games are now so realistic, and our relationship with FORZA has been a powerful tool both to grow brand awareness and show what makes McLaren cars so special.”

“Few people would normally ever get the chance to pilot the McLaren Senna, but now a whole new audience can experience the thrill of driving our ultimate track car virtually on the roads of Britain.”

As the game’s prestigious hero car, the McLaren Senna made its North American debut at the E3 Expo in June 2018, and its German debut at Microsoft’s Xbox booth, at Gamescom fair in Cologne during August 2018.

The collaborations don’t stop there. McLaren, Forza Horizon 4 and LEGO® Speed Champions have brought the ultimate LEGO fantasy to life. An all new expansion to Forza Horizon 4 lets you explore a LEGO themed world and drive the LEGO® Speed Champions McLaren Senna in game.

#DriveAtHome

The collaborations continue. Our new #DriveatHome initiative sees us working with Forza to tell stories about our customers and fans driving adventures. We are asking gamers to share their ultimate McLaren snaps from Forza Horizon 4, we will then post weekly #DriveatHome highlights on our social channels, with in-game images of our most iconic cars. In the images you can see below; we wanted to show the incredible teardrop shape of the McLaren Speedtail a little differently, so took advantage of the tunnels in Forza Horizon 4 to do so. A simple re-grade saw the colour change you can see, which brings out the orange of the Speedtail. Share your #DriveatHome adventures with us and check back every Sunday to see our favourites.

McLaren Senna Racing Experience

A McLaren Senna Racing Experience at the Microsoft store in London

The collaboration has brought another gaming experience to the UK by offering a racing experience in Forza Motorsport 7, in a McLaren Senna full motion simulator, in Microsoft’s London store on Oxford Circus. The experience offers the public the chance to try the simulator for themselves, and to try and beat the hot lap time set by Bruno Senna, for the chance to win prizes.
