Day One of States of Endurance — the journey begins! Meet our three drivers, Paul, Oli, and Jack, as they set off on an epic road trip across the USA. Today’s route takes us from Monterey along the Pacific Coast Highway and onto Santa Monica, marking the first stretch of many miles to come. With the journey off to a strong start, tomorrow we dive into exploring the greater Los Angeles area.
The journey south from Santa Monica was more than a scenic cruise—it marked a shift in pace and mindset. Along the Pacific Coast Highway, the McLarens came into their own. Clean ocean air, tight curves, and long stretches of tarmac gave the 750S and Artura the space to do what they were built for.
Near Long Beach, the team was joined by racing legend Justin Bell. With decades in the sport—and a Le Mans win to his name—his presence added weight to this leg of the drive. This is what States of Endurance is about: shared stories, real experience, and a drive that goes beyond the surface.
By the time we reached Newport Beach, the energy had shifted. The coastline gave way to calm waters and clean lines—luxury marinas, quiet streets, and a fitting destination for machines built with purpose and precision.

We left Newport Beach early, pushing east with over 370 miles already behind us. The desert ahead wasn’t just a backdrop—it was a proving ground. Long straights, climbing heat, and changing conditions brought focus to the team and performance to the forefront.
The McLaren 750S and Artura handled everything with ease. From canyon roads to wide-open flats, each car responded with control and composure, delivering a kind of confidence that only comes with thousands of development hours behind the wheel.
People noticed. At fuel stops, through Palm Springs, and beyond, the States of Endurance liveries sparked conversations. This isn’t a convoy—it’s a moving statement about what these cars can do.
As Arizona came into view, the terrain shifted again. But the rhythm held. Steady. Sharp. Focused. This leg wasn’t about arrival—it was about execution.
Miles completed: 382
Before sunrise, we left Scottsdale and crossed deeper into the desert. The road opened up, and the miles came quickly. There’s something about this part of the drive—quiet, direct, uninterrupted—that makes you more aware of the machine, and your place in it.
A stop at White Stallion Ranch brought a rare kind of pause. Here, we traded throttle for reins, learning the basics of horsemanship and cattle work. Different kind of focus. Different kind of endurance.
By nightfall, we reached Las Cruces. Another 360+ miles done, and the cars never missed a step. From altitude changes to rougher stretches of tarmac, they stayed composed, consistent, and responsive.
This is what the States of Endurance is really about. It’s not just how far you go—it’s how you get there.
Miles completed: 364
Leaving Las Cruces before dawn, the convoy pushed east across wide-open desert. Long stretches of highway gave the 750S and Artura space to settle into rhythm, their precision cutting cleanly through the miles. As Texas opened up, the scenery shifted—desert giving way to rugged hills, then rolling plains. Stops along the way brought curious faces and conversations sparked by the States of Endurance liveries.
The McLarens weren’t just passing through; they were making an impression. By late evening, Austin’s skyline came into view. After more than 600 miles, the transition from quiet desert roads to a city alive with sound and energy was striking. Machines built for purpose had arrived in a place defined by creativity and rhythm—a fitting end to a demanding day.

From Austin, the road north to Dallas was shorter, but no less important. Leaving the capital’s eclectic streets, the trio of McLarens found clean stretches of Texas highway—smooth tarmac that gave the 750S and Artura room to breathe.
In Dallas, the drive shifted from the road to the community. At a pitstop event with McLaren owners and enthusiasts, two special moments stood out: the reveal of the 750S LM and the first look at Project: Endurance. Both pointed firmly toward the future, carrying the spirit of McLaren’s Le Mans legacy into what comes next.
The following morning, the convoy rolled into a Cars & Coffee event with a police escort, joined by a rally of McLaren customers. Dozens of cars lined the streets, a show of community and momentum that carried the States of Endurance story forward. Dallas offered a different kind of arrival—bigger scale, faster pace. The city’s skyline and its people gave this leg a sense of momentum, setting the stage for what lay ahead.

Eastbound from Dallas, the landscape shifted with every hour. Flat Texas plains gave way to rolling hills, then the greener pastures of Arkansas. With each change in terrain, the McLarens adapted seamlessly—750S precision, Artura composure, all moving as one. On this leg, the team was joined by Alex Hainer, McLaren Trophy racing driver. Her perspective brought a fresh edge to the drive—an insight into the discipline, focus, and competitive mindset that fuels her time on track. Sharing the road with her was a reminder that endurance isn’t just measured in miles, but in the approach you bring to every stretch of tarmac.
By the time the Mississippi River came into view, the convoy had settled into a rhythm of drive, stop, connect, repeat. Conversations sparked at fuel stations, cameras raised at passing glimpses—it was clear the States of Endurance had become more than just a journey. Arriving in Memphis felt like hitting a new gear. The city’s energy—its music, its movement—met the drive head-on. As neon and blues spilled into the night, the McLarens pulled in carrying the miles behind them and anticipation for what was still to come.

Day eight of States of Endurance saw the team drive from Memphis to Atlanta which began with a symbolic stop at the iconic Sun Studios, where legends like Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash once recorded. It was a fitting tribute to endurance and creativity—qualities that resonate deeply with McLaren’s own legacy. The 750S’s and Artura supercars parked outside the studio offered a striking contrast: modern performance machines against a backdrop of musical history. This moment set the tone for a journey that would blend cultural homage with high-octane precision.
As the convoy left Memphis behind, the landscape began to shift. The flat, open roads gave way to rolling hills and increasingly lush greenery, a visual cue of the changing environment. The supercars responded with effortless grace, their engineering tuned for both speed and comfort to cover all the miles ahead. Our team needed heightened awareness and focus as the route became more dynamic, demanding resilience not just from the cars, but from the people behind the wheel. Arriving in Atlanta, the energy of the city was palpable. The hustle and bustle of urban life contrasted sharply with the quiet intensity of the drive, yet it felt like a natural conclusion to a journey rooted in endurance. The three McLaren’s, gleaming under city lights, drew admiration from passersby’s. Just as Sun Studios marked the beginning with echoes of the past, Atlanta marked the end of a long day with a celebration of what’s next.

The day began in Atlanta with a pitstop event alongside the McLaren community. Owners and enthusiasts gathered to celebrate the States of Endurance drive, their cars lining up alongside the 750S and Artura before the next stage began.
From there, the convoy set off into the night. Headlights cutting through the darkness, the team traced Georgia’s highways under the glow of dashboards and city lights fading in the mirrors. The night drive brought its own rhythm—quiet, focused, measured—punctuated by fuel stops and the occasional moment of conversation. By the time Savannah came into view, dawn wasn’t far behind. The historic streets offered a calm arrival, a sharp contrast to the intensity of the drive through the night.
Miles completed: 248
Leaving Savannah, the convoy turned south with a major stop in mind: Kennedy Space Center. There, the team met retired astronaut Winston Scott, whose perspective on discipline, focus, and resilience resonated with the States of Endurance journey. His stories of spaceflight reminded the drivers that endurance is as much about mindset as it is about performance.
Orlando brought another highlight—a McLaren pitstop event that drew the local community together. Owners, customers, and fans came to celebrate the arrival of the convoy, adding energy and momentum to this penultimate stage of the drive. By nightfall, the city’s lights framed the 750S and Artura, their journey now carrying the combined weight of thousands of miles and countless shared moments.
Miles completed: 281
The final leg southbound to Miami carried the weight of everything accomplished so far—3,867 miles across the country, thousands of conversations, and countless moments that celebrated McLaren’s endurance spirit.
Joined by a customer convoy, the trio of McLarens approached Miami in formation, their arrival culminating at the iconic Miami International Autodrome. Crossing the finish line there wasn’t just symbolic—it was the perfect conclusion to a coast-to-coast journey that marked 30 years since McLaren’s debut Le Mans victory. Under the Florida sun, surrounded by community, the States of Endurance drive ended where it began: with precision, purpose, and the relentless spirit of McLaren.
