So in the new GT, our design team have reimagined luxury. For a new era. Clutter and weight have been banished. Honed elegance is the design ethos. Light and space rules.
Everything you touch is beautifully made from ultimate quality, pioneering materials. There’s world-class softgrain leather. solid aluminium. And the option of soft, tactile Cashmere. Together, it creates a refined, welcoming environment – alive with technology, punctuated with light.
Stunning to look at. Pleasing to the touch. And chosen for both durability, and capability. Every material inside the new GT is defined by this approach. Rich Jet Black Nappa Leather headlining. Satin silver chrome finishing around the infotainment screen and air vents. Switchgear made from solid knurled aluminium. Leather from the very best hand-finished hides. Depending on your chosen interior theme, you can also enjoy the unique fineness of Cashmere, and the innovative strength of SuperFabric®. This innovative material is infused with a layer of tiny armoured guard plates – offering enhanced resistance to scratches, stains and water. Which makes it perfect for protecting your luggage bay. And, because we understand that individuality is key, the opportunity for personalisation across your car is huge.
The new GT is living proof that craftsmanship evolves. It embraces innovation, new materials and technology. What remains is sheer quality. Meticulous attention to detail. Textures and finishes that inspire you. Exquisite bespoke stitching patterns and fine leather flow across the cockpit. Seats feature double piping and intricate perforation. Aluminium switchgear is precision machined and tactile. The luggage bay can be expertly trimmed in ultimate quality leather or innovative SuperFabric®. The padding beneath the central touchscreen and armrests add to the feel of obsessive crafted quality. Beneath your feet there is soft loop pile carpeting.
A perfectly judged driving position you might expect. This is a McLaren, after all. But the seats of our Grand Tourer take comfort and support to new heights. Harnessing the best materials and pioneering technology. Developed specially for the new GT, the seats are streamlined and sculpted – offering exactly the right amount of support. And all-important lateral control. You can also choose ultimate levels of adjustability with the heated Comfort Seats. These provide 10-way electric adjustability, memory function and an intelligent comfort entry/exit system. Which means, in the new GT, even the grandest of Grand Tours are made simply effortless.
Bulk is the enemy of speed. So just like its exterior, the interior of the new GT turns conventional Grand Tourer thinking on its head. Shapes are shrink-wrapped around instruments, controls and screens. The floating centre console and curving low sills create a sense of flexible room and accessibility. Large sweeping glazed areas and slim windscreen pillars enhance the panorama. So do the glazed C-pillars, giving you an uninterrupted over-the-shoulder view. You can bring even more light inside by choosing the optional tinted glass roof. A beautifully engineered feature, it has a special interlayer to absorb the sun’s rays and maximise noise insulation. Comfortable. Cocooned. But never closed in.
