A meeting of like-minds
McLaren. Belstaff. Two iconic British brands. Both renowned for innovation, quality and modern craftsmanship. Now they have come together to create a new ‘capsule’ clothing collection… Belstaff x McLaren.
Since 1924, Belstaff has been producing fine clothes for adventurous people. They were the first ever company to use wax cotton to create waterproof clothing for motorcycling. Fast forward to 2018 and the McLaren project set new challenges. The brief was to combine Belstaff’s approach to design with McLaren’s philosophy of everything for a reason.
Designed to (out) perform
The design process was an exercise in true collaboration – a joining of expertise and experience. Each piece was designed around pure function, keeping both brands’ customers as the focus. Ergonomic seam lines. Innovative stretch fabrics. Minimal necklines. All combine to give drivers full range of movement when behind the wheel and beyond the car.
The result is a set of nine perfectly crafted pieces for men and three for women. These are enduring classics and wardrobe essentials. Born from a philosophy that less is more. And that the finest design and production values will always endure.
