McLaren readies the 570S GT4 and 570GT for US debuts

The latest road car and race car in the Sport Series will make their North American debuts next week as part of McLaren’s significant presence at historic Monterey Car Week and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Highlighting the breadth of the Sports Series range, both the 570GT road car and the 570S GT4 race car will make their US debuts as McLaren returns to the historic Monterey Car Week in California to showcase its impressive current and heritage model line-up.

This is the seventh year McLaren will have a significant presence at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the headline event of Monterey Car Week. In 2010 the first McLaren of the modern era made its North American debut at the famous event, a year later the bespoke McLaren Special Operations (MSO) division was launched at Pebble Beach, and world debuts seen at the event include the McLaren 650S Sprint and McLaren P1™GTR design concept.

Over the course of Monterey Car Week, starting 15 August 2016, McLaren will introduce the US to the 570GT, with several examples of the car to be found around the peninsula. The car will make an appearance at McCall’s Motorworks Revival on Wednesday evening, in action at the McLaren Driver Experience from Thursday through until Saturday, and finish the week with a presence at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Sunday.

The North American debut of the 570S GT4 comes hot on the heels of the new McLaren race car’s maiden win. Competing in the 2016 British GT Championship as part of a rigorous testing schedule in live race environments, the McLaren 570S GT4 was victorious over the weekend at Snetterton. Heading into the 2017 motorsport season the McLaren 570S GT4 is homologated to comply with the RACB standards and will be eligible for all GT4 competition globally with customer teams.

In Monterey, the 570S GT4 will be shown alongside a McLaren P1™ GTR and M8F Can-Am race car on Wednesday 17 August at McCall’s Motorworks Revival, and this spectacular trio will also appear on 19 August at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, as a result of a partnership with the Los Angeles-based Petersen Automotive Museum.

There will also be a host of heritage McLaren Formula 1™ and Can-Am race cars on display throughout the week, and then on Sunday 21 August, McLaren Special Operations will reveal a unique project on the concept lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance…
