The McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, England, opens it doors and welcomes friends and family to a special event – the annual McLaren Employee Motor Show.

Since the first event in 2010, the state-of-the-art McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) in Woking, England has opened its doors to over 3000 people for the McLaren Employee Motor Show. The event welcomes McLaren employees past and present, as well as their families and guests.

The highlight of this family-focused event was undoubtedly the display of 200-plus exhibits – many of them owned by McLaren employees – that showcased a variety of two- and four-wheeled machinery including supercars, hot rods, vintage motorcycles, purpose-built racers and American muscle cars.

Unique vehicles on display included everything from a road-legal buggy to a McLaren 570S Coupé prototype, the first Sports Series.

Visitors also had the chance to stroll down the iconic ‘Boulevard’ within the McLaren Technology Centre itself, where a selection of McLaren’s own current and heritage Formula 1™, Can-Am and GT endurance race machines were assembled alongside the vast collection of motorsport trophies amassed over the past 53 years of the company’s history.

As well as the impressive array of vehicles on display, which also included models from the current McLaren Sports Series, Super Series and Ultimate Series, visitors also enjoyed a range of activities. A pit-stop challenge added a competitive element to the day, and there were also bicycle stunt displays, a race simulator and helicopter rides, in what has become an important annual fixture for both McLaren and its hometown.

Alongside the plethora of vehicles on display at the sixth annual Employee Motor Show, a bicycle stunt display wowed the crowds.

Friends and family of McLaren employees past and present were welcomed to the state-of-the-art McLaren Technology Centre.

And while the day is focused on providing a fun day out for McLaren employees and their families, the event plays a role in raising money for good causes in the local area. The Peter Jordan Fund, which raises money for The Brain Tumour Charity, was one of this year’s beneficiaries.

The employee-led McLaren Activities and Charities Group organise the Employee Motor Show each year, and member Simon Wait explained the importance of the event: ‘It’s a privilege for McLaren to give something back to our employees and an opportunity for them to proudly show their families and friends where they work. Most importantly, we’re proud that through this event we’re able to support two very important charitable organisations close to our heart, who will benefit directly from the generosity of our people.

Guests at the Employee Motor Show had the opportunity to see a Pure McLaren garage set-up in the metal. More information on Pure McLaren track days and other events is available here
