Accountable for every part of the production process, our technicians take huge pride in their work. The torque of every bolt is measured, the quality of the paint finish is meticulously checked and every detail of the interior is inspected by hand. It’s a labour of love, but it’s the only way to ensure each vehicle is worthy of the McLaren badge.
Accurate to within thousandths of a millimetre, a geometric and surface validation tool measures over 450 different points on each car. Post production, every car goes through the Dynamic Test road simulator and the Monsoon. A bespoke water chamber, the Monsoon releases over 1,200 litres of recycled deionised water onto the car. These are all time consuming procedures – but they’re the only way to ensure every McLaren is flawless.
The assembly process, tooling and stillage in The McLaren Production Centre are bespoke. Every component is presented like jewellery, and every production technician is an expert in their field. Working in such a honed environment creates a confident and engaging atmosphere that empowers our technicians and motivates everyone in the building.
