THE BRUCE McLAREN STORY

A MAVERICK BLUEPRINT

EPISODE 3: THE FLIGHT PATH

From his Colnbrook workshop under the flight path of Heathrow Airport, Bruce built a team that could win on both sides of the Atlantic. Here, small, specialised teams innovated rapidly to succeed in multiple racing series.

Fuelled by discipline, humour, and a shared sense of purpose, the team embodied what Bruce called “burning enthusiasm." The spirit of Colnbrook still inspires McLaren today.

“Life is measured in achievements, not years alone.”

Bruce McLaren

BRUCE McLAREN'S LIFE WAS EXTRAORDINARY.

From growing up above his family’s Service Station in Auckland to overcoming a childhood illness, he developed a relentless mindset. He became the youngest Formula 1 Grand Prix winner of his time, proving progress comes from stepping up. More than a driver, he built a racing team grounded in collaboration and shared pursuit.

Bruce died aged 32, but his impact endures - measured not in years, but in what he built and set in motion for McLaren today.
